Description

Tender 7333556 was cancelled in error before the Tenders were opened. This is a re-publication of CFT 7333556 to allow the tenderers to re-submit their tenders. Tipperary County Council Clonmel Flood Defence Demountable Barrier Seal Replacement. The scope of this contract includes the replacement of demountable barrier seals and other associated works. Tipperary County Council, River Suir (Clonmel) Drainage Scheme, Replacement of Demountable Barrier Seals. In order to address long-term issues of flooding in Clonmel, the Office of Public Works (OPW) commissioned a study of the catchment area to develop sustainable options to address flood risk in the town and the surrounding areas. The overall flood defence scheme comprised of: • 3.8 km of flood walls • 3.5 km of embankments • 850 m of demountable defences • 5.9km of storm water sewers • 12 pumping stations • 2 fish passes • the replacement of three bridges • strengthening / widening of a further two Bridges. Work on the scheme was completed in 2013. As part of the construction of the flood defence scheme, there are a number of locations where demountable barriers are installed that are deployed during flood events. There are visible signs of these seals reaching the end of their operational life. The scope of this contract includes the replacement of demountable barrier seals and other associated works.
