Contract for BD FACSMelody™ cell‑sorting instrument, including the required basic software, installation, initial training, and associated accessories. The instrument will be used for advanced cell analysis and sorting in connection with the research activities BD Biosciences provide a refurbished cell sorter containing 3 lasers and 8 filters. The BD FACSMelody™ is assessed to be the only solution capable of meeting the complete set of technical, operational, and safety requirements of the 14 research groups of the two Departments that have a need for this equipment without disproportionate technical difficulties or increased risk. 1. Established technical requirements The user group (research groups in both Departments) has defined several technical and functional requirements that are necessary to ensure proper execution of ongoing and upcoming research activities. These include: • Compatibility with existing BD reagents, antibodies, and already validated protocols • Documented performance for the relevant cell types and experimental setups • A compact benchtop design that fits within the laboratory’s current physical layout • Built in biosafety and aerosol management features that comply with internal occupational health and safety requirements These requirements are based on objective scientific and operational needs. BD FACSMelody™ is the only solution that fully meets all requirements without technical compromises. The system’s architecture enables: • Direct use of existing, validated BD workflows • Integrated cell analysis and sorting in one compact system • Stable and reproducible performance documented for the relevant applications • Compliance with biosafety requirements without the need for additional external adaptations None of the identified alternative systems provide comparable combined functionality within the same technical and operational framework.
