Stockholm university is to procure flights in tropical regions, including instruments to collect measurements. Aerosols, Convection, Clouds, and Climate Sensitivity (AC3S) is an ERC-funded project that seeks to understand the interactions between aerosol particles and tropical deep convective clouds. The project is carried out in the Department of Meteorology at Stockholm University (MISU). The AC3S project seeks to obtain state-of-the-art in-situ cloud measurements in oceanic convective clouds with instrumented aircraft. The desired measurements include the cloud-droplet size distribution, vertical wind speed, temperature, pressure, and supersaturation.
