Statsbygg is constructing the new Life Sciences Building (LVB) for the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital, on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, with the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority as co-commissioning authority. The building will provide workplaces for approximately 1,600 employees and 1,600 students. Excavation and groundwork commenced in the second quarter of 2019, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2026. The building will bring together a range of academic and research disciplines in a joint interdisciplinary environment to develop new solutions to major challenges in health and sustainability, with access to the best and most modern equipment required to conduct world-class research, teaching and innovation.
