Description

The EURL ECVAM laboratory hosts two High Throughput Testing (HTT) robotic platforms. Both HTT platforms include two liquid handling systems (Hamilton Microlab STAR and STARlet), a robotic arm (Hamilton HMotion), a microplate washer, a microplate reader and an automated incubator. The HTT platforms allow to perform all different operations of an in-vitro experiment in an automated way. The HTT platforms are controlled by a single software (Hamilton VENUS), which allows to program all different instruments of the platforms. The PTP platform of the EURL ECVAM laboratory has been recently upgraded with a new Microlab STARlet liquid handler with 384-probe head, which improves efficiency and reproducibility of in-vitro experiments compared to the 96-probe head. Due to these performance limitations, also the RTP robotic platform needs to be upgraded in order to replicate the configuration of the PTP platform, by equipping it with a 384-head Microlab STARlet liquid handler and an advanced BioTek Synergy H1 reader.
