LanWin4 is one of the offshore grid connection projects being developed by TenneT as part of the 2GW Program. The project is intended to connect large-scale offshore wind generation capacity to the German onshore transmission system. The scope of this project agreement comprises the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) grid connection system, including an offshore converter platform and associated converter technology. The project is designed as an integrated EPCI solution to ensure full technical compatibility, system integrity and coordinated delivery of all major components. Due to the high degree of technical interdependency between the offshore platform and the HVDC converter system, the project requires close integration of structural, electrical, mechanical and control system interfaces throughout the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning phases. The successful delivery of the project is of strategic importance for the timely integration of renewable energy sources and the achievement of national and European energy transition objectives.
